I have not been on here in a while, and I am sorry but I can say I have had my hands full!
Daniel is growing so big, as well as Michael!
Daniel goes in for his 4 month check up next weekend - time feels like it is flying by which I want to bottle every moment up and keep it forever.
Nothing really exciting has been going on here, except working, and keeping the kids fed. I DO wish that there were more hours in a day, because by the time I get home from work and getting the kids dinner I have no time for anything else. I feel my house is a wreck and I am never going to be able to catch up to the clean it needs to be.
All is good though :)
I just wanted to check in with my blogger nation and let yall know we are well :) we love you very much!

New Addition!

I have not been on and blogged in a minute, Sorry about that...I have sorta had my hands full...we have a new family member to annouce, Daniel Jacob! He was born October 4th. He was 2 months premature, with low white blood cell counts, he is fine now and growing fast!
I will need to update my blog name from Casey & Michael in Texas to Casey, Michael & Daniel in Texas...Or I was thinking 2 Virginians and a Texan :) hahaha Since Daniel was born in Texas and Michael and I are born in VA...I am still brain storming ideas on the blog name change.

I am back to work, and whew what an adventure, I am up 3 times at night so when I have to get up and get going I am draggin!

I have to get me up, Daniel is already up at this point begging for formula and then I have to fuss with Michael to get him out of bed and ready for school. So our mornings are very eventful as you can imagine.

But I wouldnt trade it for anything in the world. Daniel will be over this hungry all the time hump and maybe momma can get some sleep at night.

I love my boys!

Home Make Over - Casey Edition!

I am currently in the middle of a total home make over! Well as much of one as I can do in an apartment that is :)

Michael's room is done and I am so pleased with it! It is nice if I do say so myself :) And he loves it so that is a bonus! He has actually been sleeping in HIS bed and hasn't wandered into my room some time in the middle of the night, which is sorta exciting considering he KICKS me when he sleeps with me and let me tell you IT HURTS!

I have not taken pictures of EVERYTHING yet but stay tuned they will come :)

Michael's book shelf! I love this thing! I love the baskets, I got them for a DEAL at Michael's (LOVE THAT PLACE!) and the newest is the shadow box with his football jersey in it!

Mommy and Son Play Date 2/6/2010

This past weekend - I hosted (along with with help from friends - THANK YOU!) a mommy and son Valentine's Play Date get-together.

Weather called for temps in the 55 degree mark - so I thought PERFECT!

We got hotdogs to grill, and other mommas brought things to share as well! I also went out and got sugar cookies for the kiddos to decorate and Valentine's for them to create for their loves, (us moms!)

Lighting the grill was a task in a half (I didnt and have never lit a grill before) BUT we did get it lit and got the dogs grilled!

The temps were NOT 55 degrees! It was a lot colder, forcing us who had them to grab blankets out the cars and wrap up in them. Most of the boys were too busy playing to actually notice how cold it was outside. We did manage to get the cookies decorated before everyone determined it was just too cold out side to stay any longer.

I sent the kiddos home with the pictures of them and their mom, and the valentine for them to create at home in the warm!

Had the temps not been so low I think it all went perfect! We had a good turn out! And the boys played great together!

I am so late - but I do hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a very safe and Happy New Years!
As winter break approached we got creative thanks to a fellow momma on DFWareamoms.com who posted a GREAT, cheap and easy gift project!
I want to try to tackle some more crafts that I see, I just need to make the time to do it :)
But here is our hand at this Popper can (not sure if that is what it is called but that is what IM callin it hehe)

Here is ours:

What you are gonna need:

A pop top soup can like this:

You are going to want to open it the OPPOSITE side of the pop top part so that the pop top is still intact - so in other words open with a can opener on the BOTTOM! Dont open where the WHOLE thing comes off you want it to be still attached just not fully attached.

Wash can out and do what ever you will with the contains of the can :)

once can is open (from the bottom), washed and dried. Get out your GLUE GUN!

I just love glue guns :)

You are going to want to pick a nice paper to glue on the outside of the can, scrap paper works well - it should look like this:

Fill the can with what ever goodies you want to, candies, gifts cards, what ever ideas you have that will fit in the can that will be fun to receive :)

Next you are going to want to pick out a nice ribbon for the border, glue that on you will get something to look likehttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif this:

Time to glue the can shut! BE SAFE with this one! I found my fingers burned with glue a few times, just take your time. You are going to want to hold the top in place.
Decorate top with strings and things :) we added a tag to determine whose it was and who is was from and also directions to POP THE TOP to see what is inside!

Wow! It has been a while since I have blogged - sorry! I have been sorry busy these days with work, Michael's football, Taekwondo and everything else in between it seems there are not enough hours in a day!
Football season went well, they made it into the playoffs - so that is good, Saturday's game they played a tough team *if* we would have won that one we would have made it into the "super bowl" but they did loose, it was a good game, they held the other team for a while which was good because the first time we played them it was 40 - 7 and the game was called on 3rd quarter.
Saturday's game was 13-0 so it was a little better then 40 and not finishing the whole game.

This year Michael is playing tackle football! He asked and now he is playing. After much debating with him (because he tends to want to do a sport and then once he starts playing doesn't want to anymore) he decided yes!

He was placed on a team...the Redskins! How ironic is that!? We are from the Redskins territory and we live in the cowboys LOL hahaha

His first practice was a 2 Saturdays ago, which I wasn't able to take him but his uncle said he would! I am grateful for that! Thanks John!

I have taken a few snaps of him practicing!

Last week they worked on the plays so they didn't suit up or anything, just wore a the helmet.
This week they got to practice geared up! Which was very exciting for Michael. He loved being able to run around and hit :)

He said he enjoyed this weeks practice better then last week! We have practice again tomorrow and then Saturday as well.

We also received the game schedule today! His first official game will be on September 12th at 9am!

I will most definitely need to take off work to go to his first one!

Michael's 7th Birthday Party!

On Saturday we had Michael's birthday party it was so much fun! We had the party at Amazing Jakes!

Michael decided that we get the kiddos who were invited to his party gifts as well! That was a big hit and every one enjoyed the gifts that they received (I hope), I also put together little goodie bags for them as well.

Michael had such a wonderful time there with everyone!

Hey everyone! Sorry I have not updated in a while, it has been busy for us!

Friday was Michael's 7th birthday he was so happy to be 7, I am guessing 7 IS a big deal!

For his birthday dinner we had a family dinner at the Magic Time Machine, it was so much fun! Money well spent!
We had an awesome waiter (Robin Hood!) he was pretty funny!
We also met some other characters!

Michael's Writings...

The other day when I picked Michael up from summer camp he had a note book with him. I didn't think anything of it because he always has a notebook with him that he draws in, so it was sitting in my back seat for a week.

Today I picked it up looking for something and opened up to a page of Michael writings...it was several pages of him writing about different topics, and it blew me away what he wrote I thought they were so good and I wanted to share with you all!

I hope you enjoy them as I did and do!

Story 1:

"If I was in the Olympics I would jump hurdles. I would win all the trophies. I will run the fast because I have been working out on Wii games, no Wii Fit. If I win first place I would be very happy. And I win a trophy. I would have 3 trophies. I win a lot of money. I could buy anything I want. Like a school or a school bus or a store or a house or a car or a car store." - Michael D. White

"If I could live in another time period it would be...in the cow boy time. I would go back in time I would ride cows. Mooooo! Then I would go back home. I would miss my mommy and my daddy. Seven is fastly approaching!

So here we are just 6 days away from Michael turning 7! SEVEN! I cant believe that he is going to be seven! It doesnt seem that long ago he was a toddler running around :( Wow when they say time flies it really does!

So I have a party planned for him on the 22nd and he is super excited to be having it, we got a good amount of people going to show. Some didnt RSVP but the ones who mattered did and that is all that matters to us. I just want Michael to have a good 7th birthday party :)

I have decided (and I went back and forth on where to have his party several times) and we will have it at Amazing Jakes!

We have been before and I think it is a cool place and Michael really enjoyed it.
It is 2 floors, when you go in they have an all you can eat pizza buffet with dessert and drinks. The price isnt bad at all. They have rock climbing wall, mini golf (i have a feeling Michael will spend most of his time here), arcade, bumper cars, laser tag, racing cars, a little toddler area with games and some other things. But I really think the kids will have a blast!

My whole concern with my original idea was if it was going to be too hot (which last year it was!) Well apparently Texas doesnt like me because when i plan his bday outside it is so hot the cake melts and when I want to but end up not doing it they are calling for a very lovely weather day UGH!

BUT all and all it just matters to me that Michael has a nice time and a fantastic birthday.

I have not yet ordered his cake which I will do this weekend for sure! He wants a Pokemon cake! HA I looked at one place and they didnt have one Pokemon themed. I would think they would it seems to be popular with the kids.

I will keep you posted for sure on how his party was :)

Football Time Baby!

Saturday my little baby (well not baby anymore, but will always be MY baby) will be going to his first football practice of the season! woot woot!

As many know I have been asked by Michael to play football this year (tackle football that is).

The team they have placed him on is...drum roll please....The....REDSKINS!

Yes how funny is that! In the city of the Dallas Cowboys, Michael will be on the Skins! Not to mention that is our hometown football team!

haha!

He will be getting his football uniform on Saturday I am thinking...if not he will have it soon!

I went out and got him a practice jersey, cup (which I have a very cute and funny story about that), and cleats!

People have told me that football is a lot of money, but since I know how to shop I have not run into that issue!

I got his shoulder pads for $28 and they only were used 6 times, if that they are practically brand new!

Practice jersey was $18, Nike cleats $29...

He will be getting his helmet, playing pants, and playing jersey once it comes in, the coach had to order them, because the kids will have replica uniforms of the Washington Redskins.

I will have a lot of pics :)

I am sad I cant make it to his first practice, but with the help of family I asked Uncle John and he will be taking Michael for me :)

Our Baptisim!

I wanted to apologize for not being on here a lot these days, it has been crazy!

2 Sunday's ago Michael and I got baptized! It was wonderful! We shared this moment with family members who are here in Texas with us, members and guests of the church at our church's annual picnic and baptisim! What a fabulous way to celebrate this awesome occasion!

We do wish that our family and friends from Virginia were here to share this momentous event with us but they were in our hearts, thoughts and prayers.

Michael went first and I followed, When asked when Michael accepted the lord into his heart and accepted him as his savior he got really shy and said he found him while attending church Sunday school, which they ended up saying VBS. But that is okay, he went in and Pastor Jeff baptized him and he just popped right up (the water was COLD!)

After Michael went it was my turn and when asked when I accepted Christ, I told them the story of when Michael was born, I wish I could tell the WHOLE story but I didnt want to hold the others up. :)

When I realized the wonders of our Lord, was through Michael, I always knew there was "God and Jesus" but I never really KNEW what wonderful things were though them.

Michael was born 1 month to the day early, and was very sick, he was diagnosed with Neutropenia. For those who dont know what that is, it is basically is a hematological disorder caused by low white blood cells. Without this he could get sick very easy and if cut or scraped would have a hard time to heal. Him being 1 month early didnt help this at all, it made it even more dangerous for him!
He stayed in the NICU for a while, slowly his white blood cells increased but not enough.
Finally get got it up just enough to be released from the NICU, we still had to take him to the doctors once a week, to have his blood checked, then every 2 weeks after that. They ended up doing a spinal on this little tiny baby of mine, the needle was longer then his whole body! I couldnt stand it and had to stand out in the hallway while his father stayed in with him to assist the doctors in holding him down.

We had talked with the doctor shortly after that and Michael had to get shots administer once a week, twice a week and then worked up to once a month.
They told us that this would most likely be something he would need to do his whole life. It was very upsetting to me!

Everyone prayed that our baby would pull though and that God would help him. After taking him monthly to get his shots and have his blood checked for his white blood cell counts, one day the doctor goes back to check them and we wait patiently for him to come back not knowing if they had stayed the same, gone down, or gone up. He comes in puzzled look on his face. My heart dropped just waiting for bad news!

But what was said wasnt bad news at all! What he told us was he didnt know HOW but his cell count was normal! and most likely wouldnt need to come back!

Our Michael is strong, healthy young boy and he is 7 years old as of August 21st this year!

I am so thankful that our Lord is here and he does answer prayers and you just have to believe and accept him into your life. He is great! and his greatness surrounds us every day!

I am proud of Michael he memorizes bible verses and loves church! He doesnt love getting up in the mornings but once we get there he loves it and to see him enjoy church and worshiping together is awesome! He is eager to learn and pray and just love God!

So to my son I am very proud of you :) and I thank God each and every day that you are here and are such a joy in my life!

Baptisim

For a while I have been searching and wanting to find a church and start taking Michael. We were going back in Virginia and I dont know I just never got to one here in Texas. I decided 2 weeks ago I was going, got the kid up and we went to church. I was in the process back home in becoming a member of First Baptist church of Alexandria, and we moved so I didnt get to finish doing that.
Michael loved the children's center and I have enquired about becoming members and getting Michael baptized. Last night he started a class he needs to take to learn about what it means to become a christian and what being baptized means. If they think he is ready and knows the meaning they will baptize him. He went to the first class and loved it! They gave him a bible for his age, and a workbook that he has to work on. His father took him for me since I wasnt able to go because of work schedules.
But I was told that the kids all had to pick out a word from a bag and tell what it means, Michael's word was "sin". From what I was told, all the parents and leaders were very impressed with Michael's answer to it, and even at the end of class went up to Mike and voiced to him how impressed they were and that it was the best answer to that question they ever heard.
What was his answer you ask? He said, "sin is anything that you think, say, or do that breaks God's hear or makes him sad"

I am so excited for him to be liking church so much and want to be reading the Bible and doing his workbooks and devotionals, he told me last night he wanted to be baptized last night, we are setting the date for August 2nd, we can pick the date we want to do the baptizing but the church is having an annual cookout and baptisim and I think we will just do it then.

God is awesome and makes me smile! I am glad I found a church home and so did Michael!

We Found a Church!

Finally! We have found a church! Michael and I attended First Baptist of Mckinney this past sunday, I liked the service very much and Michael liked the children's ministry too! PLUS! We cant wait until next Sunday to go to service :) After speaking with some members of the church, we have decided to become members! August 2nd the church is having a picnic Batisim service and I am under going planning on attending to get Michael and myself baptised.
Michael will have to go to a New U class this coming Wendnesday to learn about baptisim and accecpting Lord into his life as his savior to decide if he is ready to be baptised.
I cant wait!

Michael's Birthday Plans....

Michael's Birthday is right around the corner and Im scrambling around trying to make this a good one for him! He will be seven years old! I am really big on birthday parties, it may be that I didnt have any growing up, and it is something I may or may not have missed out on when I was younger, who knows, but if it is something I missed out on, I do not want Michael to miss out on the celebration of his birth and him coming into this world and changing my life for the better. This year I think I am going to do another pool party theme. This time it will be at our apartment complex, which will be of no cost to us which is a plus! I did find this very awesome place called G2U.com and it basically is a truck, or trailer type thing that comes to you and they open it up and the kids can go inside and play video games, inside they have hooked up PS3 systems, or Xbox I am not sure which, and outside opens up and they can play Wii outside too, so it has the ability to serve many kids at one time. The rental of this will be the same amount it would be to hold it at some indoor kids party place so I am cool with that and the price. I have had some questions on how the kids can do both, swim and play games, easy! The games will be there only for 1 hour in time, and the kids can either play or swim, and the ones who want to swim first will simply have to wait until they are dry to go inside and play or can play on the Wii's on the outside. Or if some kids who are not into video games want they can swim instead.
I am planning on buying wrist bands to help the G2U staff identify who is with the party and who is not, because I do not want to pay for wandering kids to play the games I rented for Michael's party.
Food options were going to be either Pizza or cookout foods, and I am leaning more towards the cookout foods!
The pool has a part where they are tables and a grill that we can use to cook the food on.
I am going to be serving hotdogs and hamburgers which I will pick up at Sam's club. Also with the help of Michael's grandmother some YUMMY Mac and Cheese that she makes! I will also have chips and drinks to go along with the burgers and hotdogs.
I think this will be an awesome party and I hope that all my planning will work out in the end and everyone will have a wonderful time!
I have already (yes, I already sent out) the evites so that everyone can save the date because with it being summer and a few days from the start of a new school year, I want people to plan ahead to come so that Michael has a great 7th birthday!

our First 5k :)

Yes, Michael and I ran (I mean walked, and sorta ran some) our first 5k ever! well mine, I am sure Michael has done it before back home with my sister Jackie or something. It was fun and I am trying to plan for my next one for sure! Michael had made it which is what I was afraid of him whining and wanting to stop a lot.

We were joined by friends, Brandi, and her son D, and Jamie and her little girl Julia :)

The kids got to rub elbows with CHUCK E CHEESE!

Then got to clown around with some clowns :)
I am so proud of everyone for making it and not stopping, the kids did have rests, mainly to wait for us to catch up LOL

After the race, we went with our friend Brandi and her lil man D to have some Ihop! We had a nice little breakfeast (actually mine was big but worth it!)

Soon after we ate, the boys decided that they wanted to head to the park. So we did, until the ice cream man came, so we then headed to Braum's so the moms could enjoy a LOW calories ice cream :)

While eating cream the talk of swimming came up, and yes we went swimming, it was the perfect excuse to buy a new swim suit for me :) hahaha

Swimming our other friends Beth, her husband and their kids, met us there :)

Brandie, Michael, D and I ended up needing to leave because in the words of Michael, "Mommy I am cold and hungry and I feel like I am poor" So off we went to have some dinner at Souper Salad, which I have never been there before and I liked it! I got the most awesome salad, some pizza, and some mac n cheese, I attempted to do a baked potatoe, but I didnt like the taste of it.

I was BEAT by the time I got home, and crashed very soon after getting Michael from his cousin's house. Legs hurt LOL but not bad as I thought they would.

Hoping all the mommas out there had a nice one, I did and didnt! Of course I was doing house work alll day with no help what so ever! I cooked dinner, washed clothes, mopped, vacumed the carpets and some more stuff...I was exhausted! But dinner was GREAT! I got a phone! Not sure if it was planned to be given to me on Mother's day or it just happened that way, but I love my new phone! It is purple! (sorry the pic is a little blurry!)
I got wonderful things from Michael that he made! And a painted pot with a flower growing in it! It is currently sitting on my desk and I love it!

My cooked dinner was fantastic! I am glad I opted to make my own dinner at home, vs going out and spending (wasting) money.
I sent my wonderful mommy a basket of flowers and perfume which she should be getting shortly!
I couldnt send it when I wanted to because the perfume place had to order more since it is no longer being made, it is discontinued, but I dont think that my mom will mind it is late since she IS getting it and should be there soon!
We had Mike's mom stop by and pick up her gift and she shared the wonderful dinner I made :)
She said it was good.
I got to bed early! which was great! I loved it!

A Day full of FUN!

Saturday we went to the Butterfly Festival it was a lot of fun! The butterflies just landed on you and the boys thought that was super cool!

Later on we met up with our friends Brandie and her son D, and headed to the Taste of Addison, it was fun! We managed to get a small work out in with all the walking around we did as well as eat a healthy meal :) YAY US! The boys had a blast which is always a good thing! We did have some cranky pants when their hunger hit but shortly after they were fed and bellies full they were happy as can be :)

They had fun going around to all the vendors and collecting freebies! They even partook in a pickle contest of whose cruch was louder! All the boys got to get a Vlasic Pickle guy stuffed animal.

It got a bit hot, and not to mention a lil humid so the boys took a dip in the fountains! Yay for Addison fountains! They are so much fun!

The boys also rode the ferris wheel and they loved it! I was a bit scared with them way up top when it stopped but all was good and they all listened very well!

Shortly before we left Michael and I took an old timey picture it was so fun! I have never done one before and always wanted to and I got my chance! YAY ME!

A friend of mine celebrated her birthday last night and I hope she had a great time, it was the celebration of her birthday as well as a House party for clariol...All girls, we had a great time, esp with the weather being CRAZY last night! It was storming bad! While some dyed each other's hair, applied make -up and polished nails, or just hung out and chillaxed and talked with the gals! It was a great time! Great company! GREAT CAKE! :)

Thursday was Mike's Birthday which was celebrated, initially it was just Mike, me and Michael here, While Mike was in the bathroom, Michael and I got to work setting up his cake and gift.

Mike was just about to come out and Michael told him he wasnt allowed, so Mike went on his computer in the bedroom.

As I am shoving the 3 and the 1 shaped candles onto a TINY cake which keep slipping off Michael asks how we will light the cake, I have no clue we have no lighters in the house.

So Michael (cleaver Michael) goes to the room and yells "Daddy do you have a lighter?" Mike of course answers that he doesnt, so Michael proceeds to yell to me "oh great how are we supposed to light the candles now mommy?"

Shhhhhhhh I motion to him, so then finally daddy comes out to open his gifts and loved them, low and behold a knock at the door, GRANDMA ANGIE! Here to wish Mike a Happy Birthday! When another knock comes at the door UNCLE JOHN here to wish Mike a Happy Birthday!

I promise it wasnt planned at all, so then we get a lighter, lite the candles and sing to daddy!

Michael's School Fair!

This past Friday, Michael's school had a "fair" - no rides but they had bounce houses :) And each class had a game in their room :)

Michael had a lot of fun :) Also won the silent teacher auction to have an icecream party with 2 of his friends with the ladies in the office :)
He got his face painted as a vampire, his hair painted (half was blue and the other half was
orange).
His cousin Izaiah joined us too for the festivities :)

I also volunteered 30 minutes of my time, to run the game for Michael's class room :) Which was fun times!

All and all we had a very nice time :)

OH and Michael attempted to sing Karaoke, which ended up just the song playing and him mouthing the words LOL

Blue Bonnets...I have been here a while now this will be my 2nd spring spent here in Texas...and I heard about Texas and their blue bonnets and people's traditions with taking pictures with them...It kind of turns into a big to do, people posting blue bonnet sightings and what not...but after searching for some - I think (maybe not) they are HARD TO FIND! No wonder!

They are very pretty too! We found some :) I decided to take some pictures - they were a lil out of our way - I was however tipped off on a blue bonnet field closer to my house in PLANO! So I will be venturing off to see those fairly soon!

Our Fish Dorriee has passed onto fishy heaven this week...We are sad from our loss but know she is in a better place now :(

This Weekend...

This weekend Michael had his last basketball game of the season and we had his end of season basketball party afterwards which was so much fun! I left the game a bit early so I could get to Peter Piper Pizza and get things ready before the Kids and Parents got there. Luckily I got there in time and shortly afterwards parents started walking in :) The boys had such a good time playing all the games, getting tickets and eating pizza and cake!
They also got their trophies which was really neat :) The Kidos were excited about those!
They Won their last game too! Which i wasnt there to actually SEE but I had some parents send me pictures of the game which was totally cool of them to do!

We were able to go home and relax a bit before leaving again to go to Michael's cousin's birthday party which I didnt stay too long for - I am having "mommy issues" right now and needed to go home ASAP! That and also if I didnt I would have had to bite Mike's head off because he was just getting on my nerves...

But all that matters is that Michael got to spend this time with his cousin and help celebrate his birthday with him :)

Now all I am hearing from Michael is what he wants to do for his birthday this year - it is going to be awesome I know that much :)

So I have to start saving up money now to cover the cost of this birthday party I am going to be planning :)

Today we went to golf lessons and in a little while we will be taking Michael to yet another birthday party - which is at The Zone from 5:30 to 7:30.

Michael is right now with his cousin - we met up with them a McDonald's and his uncle will be bringing hom home here soon.

Either that or we will just swing by and pick him up on the way to the party.

Today Michael got to drive some golf balls in practice and I know this is only his 2nd practice but you can tell his swing is improving a lot since the first day. It was really nice outside so the whole practice was out side which was really nice. They also got to do some putting of the ball.

Introducing the New Additions to our Family!

They are taking a liking to their new home and friends Yoshi and Goomba (Michael's idea to put them in the tank with them LOL)

Golf Lessons for Michael!

I just signed Michael up for golf! I am super excited to tell him when he gets home from school!He has been asking me for a long time to sign him up, we have signed him up for soccer and basketball...but he didnt seem to like those. Continues to want to play golf...the places I have been looking into seemed a bit pricey or just no luck at all...until today!I called Hank Haney to just check on pricing...they have a beginners Sunday clinic which is 1 hour every Sunday. The lady I spoke to told me that some kids that come into it are naturals, and some it will take a month or so of practicing every Sunday until they get it. It will only cost $20 each Sunday clinic! That isnt bad at all! They then evaluate the kids to see if they are ready to go to the next level (which I forgot the name she called it) on that they start to actually really play and can do competitions. And that upon the evaluation on if he can go to it or not will only be $250 a month!I am praying this is Michael's "thing" since he shows such a strong intrest in it...and wants to pick up a golf club everytime he sees one.I really believe in my heart that Michael's want to play golf may stem from when we lived back in VA and Mike would take Michael and me along when he played golf or went to the driving range. It was something and is something Michael probally rememers doing with Mike.Soccer and basketball isnt something that Michael was ever introduced to before he started the teams he played on.I am praying that Michael actually will enjoy golf and want to look forward to going to his lessons.

I am guessing I will have to go at this golf lesson thing alone...with just Michael and me because after talking to Mike he thinks it is a waist of money - and thinks he can just take Michael out and show him on his own...well I do have some thoughts on that since Mike is always busy doing something else, there is no gaurentee that Mike will always be available to take Michael out and teach him golf...pluse with out being in a club or what ever it is called - how can he join into competitions? I told him well I am going to do it anyway it was just 20 a lesson...and asked him to please come on Sunday which he said - that I cam do what ever I wanted with MY money but not to use his for it and he will THINK about coming on Sunday...I am a bit upset by this...but oh well, if Michael doesnt like it there is no contract that he has to stay in it. It is pay per lesson...so if he starts to not like it then I just wont take him anymore - simple. Right?

Did they take a vote and decide to add them on? Chili's Guiltless Grill Menu!

Yes, I am posting a blog on Chili's Guiltless Menu...GREAT!
They have several items on the menu and they are all less then 750 calories!
I must say the carne Asada Steak is great and it it a pretty good size peice of meat, with some steamed veggies on the side :)
They also have a "Meatless" dish which is a blackbean burger - for those who omit the meat.
I think I will try them all at some point...they also offer a Grilled Salmon or Honey-Mustard Salmon, Chicken Sandwhich and a chicken platter. There is a total of six entrees I believe.
I would have never found out about this Guiltless menu, as I dont venture to Chili's often, and when I do I try to stick with what I know. Being on this diet isnt helping either, I see it pointless to eat out because all the menus I look at have way too many calories or dont have a calorie count at all, and why go to a restraunt and be disappointed?
I joined Bzzagent.com a while back and I must "Bzz" about it for a moment because this is an awesome site.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Well today is Valentine's Day and I dont really feel like doing much of anything...Michael had basketball game this morning at 10, which ended at 11am, and they WON! I am waiting on pictures from that game from another parent who was taking them :) Then directly afterwards we had to go to a birthday party for one of Michael's classmates. That was from 11-1 and it was very much fun. They played laser tag so that was cool!
I didnt get an acknowledgement that is was Valentine's Day from Mike, but that was expected - he didnt get me anything for Christmas or my birthday either - oh well, some guys just are not into that stuff I guess.
I did get a yummy cookie from Mike's mom...and I got a hand made valentine from Michael, after he asked me today what I got and I said nothing, he ran to the craft cabinet and got his construction paper, ribbon and crayons out and made me one :) I love him so much!
So I wanted to extend the Valentine's and say Happy Valentine's to everyone! If you did not have anyone to say it to you, or spend it with you, know that even though I have a man here - I spent it with my son, and that is the best Valentine's I could ever ask for :)

Decided I would blog today :) I have not in a while but that is because nothing really has been going on :(
We have not been any where new...or done anything exciting. But as soon as the weather gets warmer we will for sure.
We did get to go to this restraunt called 'Buca Di Beppo' which is an Italian restraunt - family style. It was really good, and we went to celebrate mom in law's birthday.
I had the chicken with lemon and it was pretty good :) it was the only thing that LOOKED low in calories...I also had a bite of Mike's Ravoli, and a small portion of mom's alfredo :)
I did pretty good as far as not OVER eating there and I only had 1 bite of birthday cake :) YaY me!

I went on a job interview for this HVAC company, a couple Fridays ago...I met with them today and was offered the job! I start March 2nd so I am pretty excited about that as well!

Michael has his class Valentine's Day party this Friday which I volunteered to help - it should be neat, I also said I would help at the christmas party which was a lot of fun to do, so this one should just as fun.

Michael has been doing his basketball - Pactices on Monday nights and games on Saturdays. This last one I believe they ended up being a tie!
Which is really good considering they lost practically every other game LOL Poor lil kids :)
We got Michael's basketball pictures and are waiting for those to come back, I cant wait!

Mike wasnt able to show up to it because of conflicting work schedule, but assistant coach White was there.

We did have an ice storm here - which I also didnt blog about - it was something of a big deal I guess...I mean hey it WAS ice...I have learned that in Texas it isnt a common thing so they are not as used to it as we in VA are...which is totally understandable :)

They also dont treat ice and snow here with the same chemicals as we do, something about the soil here and the water...not to sure about that.

Here are some pictures I took :) I love to see ice forms and snow but DO NOT like to be out in it!

I am trying to think of some other fun things that have been going on - but at this time I can not think of anything else exciting LOL

Talk About Being Passionate in Basketball!

Today was Michael's 2nd basketball game, they had no practice this week...just what ever the kids did with their parents at home.
Michael did get a free throw and got one of the two in! The second bounce off the rim and his team mate put it in the hoop (would have been a 2 pointer but the lady keeping score - something was wrong with her)
Well all the parents were trying to tell the old lady that 1. she had given the 2 points to the WRONG side and 2. that it was to be 3 points not 2 because only 1 went in should have counted as a free throw. The other should have been a 2 pointer.
Well Since all the parents were hackeling the score keeper to change the score to what if should be, the ref, called in 'coach Mike' telling him to handle his crowd.
I guess that heated up 'coach Mike' because he argued the score LOL
It is a CHILD'S game and I dont think the score matters - it isnt like they will go to regionals or the next level or anythhing. The score is more or less just because it is part of the game and no one really CARES who wins or looses, especially at this age, they are in FIRST grade for crying out loud.
Needless to say 'Coach Mike' got the team of FIRST graders a technical!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How in the world?

Yeah I have no clue. The parents who were complaining the score was wrong, saw Mike's reaction to get the score corrected started to think Mike was a nut case.
They do like he is passionate but it is JUST a kids game after all.

Mike did own up to his blow up after the game in the car on the way out.

But all in all the score was tied but really the Bears should have won by one point ;)

But who's keeping score anyway LOL

Game Day!

Michael had his first basketball game :) Needless to say they lost, but it was still the first game they had played with only 2 practices. Michael had a nice time, and I really feel he is getting to like this basketball thing. Although he isnt as aggressive as he could be. We will need to work on that, but then again it has only been 2 practices, he will slowly learn and that is what this is about, learning basketball.

Yes today was absolutly a sleeping day. I picked Michael up from school and he was in rare form, which indicated he needed SLEEP. Of course I took him home, fed him, and he promptly laid down and passed out. I followed suit. Needless to say we BOTH woke up at 8:00! Was able to catch the last hour of American Idol which was funny...and now here we are 9:13pm and needing to go back to sleep. Michael has informed me he is WIDE awake and can not go back to sleep and wanted to know why I didnt wake him up earlier...ughh cause mommy was sleeping to, Daddy should have thought in his mind to wake us but I guess he was hoping we would both sleep right through until morning...NOT! Hopefully he will be able to get to sleep again.

What Cha Do This Weekend?

What did you do this weekend? I will tell you what I did, NOTHING! That's right I did nothing all weekend long, I slept, but I had been sick all week, since I got back from VA. When I say all week, I mean ALL week! This weekend was my REST weekend, although I did get some laundry done, which was great because I had a lot, and Saturday I did fix my family some breakfeast but promptly went to sleep there after :) Sunday I watched Cold Mountain - a 3 hour long movie ON T.V. and then Pride and Prejudice, both GREAT movies I had NEVER seen before Sunday! WHY!!!!!! I have no idea because I loved them both :)
I want to attempt to see Benjamin Button, maybe I will get that done this week at some point.
Tonight Michael has Basketball practice, which should be 1 hour of ammusement tonight :) I will prepare my camera battery and make sure it is charged so I can get some decent pictures and videos.

Basketball Practice Begins

Monday Michael had his first basketball practice, his first game will be on January 17th. At first he was a bit unsure, because he never played really ever before. He kept saying he didnt know what to do...but once the other kids showed up and of course Daddy is coaching! Practice is 1 hour every monday. One of the other mothers asked if there was a team mother, which I never really thought of, but seeing as Mike is the coach and I am Michael's mom I told her I would call or email her to make arrangements. She seems really nice.
The next morning before we left to go to work and school...Michael told me, "I like basketball, I want to play every day!"
Which I am so super glad because I wanted him to like some sort of sport and if it is basketball so be it!

Missing my Granny (Gladys Virginia Kearns)

The last few days I have been in Virginia, my granny passed away December 30th. Reasons...unsure of to me, but I pray that my family will find out for sure really soon.
Gladys Virginia Kearns was my granny, my son's great granny, my mom's mother...a friend, someone I looked up to, someone who I cared about what she thought and worried what she would think. I didnt want to disappoint her in anyway, and I tried not to, and I know I may have from time to time, but I think she just always wanted to know I was okay, happy and safe.
I called her often but not as much as I should have. If I would have known she was going to pass away, I would have made a way back home to Virginia, but I just keep telling myself - no she will be home soon, she is okay, they will make her better. If I would have known, I would have called her, but momma said they moved her to intensive care and I couldnt call her there.
I planned on coming up in the spring, when the weather was warm so we could sit in the yard, near her little pond she made, and Michael could run around the yard.
I will still plan that trip, I know she wont be there in person with me, but she will be there. I need to be with my granddaddy.
I sure wish we lived near by, Michael has school to finish up here, I have work, but if I could be with my granddaddy I would be there every single day. I have been calling him 3-4 times a day since we have returned from Virginia, I keep thinking I am going to get on his nerves calling so much. I told him, but he said no, the more phone calls he gets the better.
Mom let me take a blanket my granny sewed and I have been sleeping with it. But now I dont want to wear it out, but it smells like her house, and it makes me feel closer to her. 28 with a blankie, but hey I dont care.
I talk to her, I know she is around I can feel her. It is just weird, I keep thinking this is a dream, keep getting an urge to call her house and hear her voice on the other line. But this isnt a dream and I am not going to wake up anytime soon.
All the time when I was staying with my granddaddy I could hear her, and what she would say. I tried to say it but no one listened...I kept saying Granny would have a fit is she saw that, or Granny doesnt like it when you do this, or that.
I do know one thing though...I will never forget my granny, I will always love her, and I will make sure my granddaddy is okay, call him often, visit as much as I can no matter what. Tell everyone I love, that I love them every chance I get.

My gaurdian angel is my granny. I will not say R.I.P. because I do not believe she is resting, she is in heaven with her dad and sister (great granddaddy Seymour and Aunt Jeannie) and they are happy, pain free, looking down on us.

Another Tooth Gone!

Well it seems that Michael is getting ready to loose yet another tooth! This will be his 3rd tooth to come out. He previously lost his two bottom teeth and now we are working on the 2 front top teeth, this is his left tooth. It is VERY wiggly, on the verge of falling out any MINUTE now. But he is being very careful with it. Not even wanting to eat anything that may force the tooth out.

I tried to convience him to let me pull it out, but he wont come near me :(

Even tried to tell a tiny story and say I was once a dentist at age 14...sadly he didnt buy it and turned around without saying a word and walked out of my room, yet to return.

I ended up making him some chicken noodle soup for dinner and mini pringles, I tried for a half of bolonga sandwhich but that wasnt even touched in fear of a tooth coming out.

Well it looks like it isnt coming out tonight, maybe I am speaking too soon, but at of now 9pm there is not a tooth that has come out of his mouth.

Well looks like I typed too soon because it came out! Michael asked his daddy to help him take it out and have a lost tooth! It was well liked by the tooth fairy as she left $4 for him the next morning :)

Merry Christmas!

Today is Christmas, last night, Christmas Eve, wasnt too eventful, I was running to stores in the mess that is was! And up late wrapping, ran out of tape around 12am, and traveled to 3 different 7-11 stores to find some tape! I didnt go to sleep until close to 2am...to be woken up this morning at 7:30, which was amazing, since Michael didnt go to sleep until late, and usually sleeps til 11am, but given it is Christmas and he probally couldnt contain his excitement he woke up early.
We actually told him to lay with us for a minute before we went in there and had to wait for daddy to take a shower! UgH, while daddy was taking a shower Michael and I made breakfeast and watched a little TV.
Finally when daddy was done with the shower, it was time to open the gifts from Santa!
Michael was excited to get the easel board he had been asking for, and has actually spent a good amount of time on it today, he likes the white board feature, and the painting papper that rolls out. We have not used the chalk side, but that is because we didnt buy any chalk, or sorry Santa didnt bring any :)
Michael also got UB Funkeys started kit and some other ones to go with it, he played that alot today as well. They are actually fun and I played it a bit as well.
Santa also brought Michael Clue Jr., which we are playing as I type, Scrabble Jr. A bike, a huge candy cane, knex, match box car town set and some other things.
From Grandma Christie, a $25 check! Which he said he was going to save.
His Aunt Crystal also sent a check for $25 which he said he was going to save.
Grandma Angie got Michael clothes which he really needed :)
Michael's Reese got him a guitar which he asked for and legos, He also received a Wii Fit from Uncle John, Aunt Galena and his cousins.
He received tons of other things, like a radio boom box...but he wants an MP3 player soo I checked Toys R Us and they are actually 50% off and so we just might have to exchange it tomorrow.
We did do anything special for a Christmas Dinner, Michael and I just had some Turkey, chicken stew Mike's mom cooked last night - it was good, a bit spicy for Michael so he ate a hot dog instead. I heard that chinese restraunts are open but I am not feeling like ordering and waiting and wasting money.
Mike's mom got us some towels and bed sheet set which those things we really needed!
Mom sent me a check for $100! I bought a couple outfits with those :) Thanks mom!
My friend and co-worker Tara got me a gift card to Sonic! and a santa figurine that is so cute and now sitting on my mantel.

Other then that, that is all, Michael had a good Christmas and that is all that matters :)
We were able to ship my families gifts to them this week, a day late, they should receive them tomorrow, Friday the 26th.
I really hope that they love the gifts we got them.
I was really tired, and Mike drove me home from his brother's house and I went right to sleep...woke up when he later got home with Michael and then passed back out...I am still tired and could pass back out right now if I wasnt busy playing with my son and blogging.
I hope each and everyone had a very Merry Christmas!

North Park Mall

Today I took Michael and his cousin to North Park Mall to look at the train exhibit. It was really neat, and they were very intrested in them which was great! We had a lot of fun, seeing all the different scenes and all the trains. Here are some of my favorite shots;

Then off to see SCROOGE!!!!!! Which was a hit with them they LOVED him, even though he was a meanie. Michael said "He cracks me up"

What A Busy Day!

Today we had an adventure first we headed out to Miss Tara's house to make some candles, Michael helped out toward the end, after he laid around, watched some of T.V. and attempted to put together the rest of Tara's started puzzle.
After the candles were poured Tara wanted to treat Michael to some ice cream at Gaylord Texan, which was really cool because we had not been there before, it was during the day so we were not able to see the lights, but it was still amazing anyway. We saw a huge gingerbread house, which Michael wanted to eat.

He was lovin the trains there and wanted to take pictures and watch it. I think he could have watched it and took pictures all day if I let him.

After we dropped off Miss Tara we headed to Bass Pro Shop to see Santa!
Michael made a gingerbread man there, played with a remote controlled car/truck and shot a gun :) dont worry it was a laser gun not a real one.

Michael passed out on the way home and slept all the way until a little while ago, it is now 11:40pm! Yeah I think we are in for a long night with a well rested 6 year old LOL!
We had a great day which will lead to another great day tomorrow, because after seeing his major intrest in the trains and both Gaylord and Bass Pro Shop, we are heading to North Park Mall to see the trains there!

Michael's Class Room Christmas Party!

Today was Michael's class room holiday party. I volunteered my time at the ediable christmas tree station. YUM...(I guess) The kids had 5 stations they were routating.

1. Ediable Christmas Tree Station
(they took sugar cones, covered in green icing and decorated with candy)
2. Reindeer Face Station
(traced feet and hands and made faces of reindeer with google eyes)
3. Gingerbread Man Station
(cut out of sand paper, rubbed cinnamin on it, and decorated)
4. Snack Station
(yum food)
5. Gift Station
(kids wrapped an empty boxes, with a cute poem saying that inside the box was LOVE)
It was fun, and we had some warm up time, but I got it after the first table :) It was fun!

A Mom in my local Moms Group lost her child last week. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.Angelina was 16 months old. Her life ended when a TV fell on top of her. They were able to save her organs and donate them. A 10 month old baby received her heart and a 7 year old boy received her liver. And another recipient received both of her kidneys. A miracle has been able to happen out of this tragedy.Angelina is survived by her parents, Jessie and Miguel and two siblings, Yesenia (5) and Elena (4). I can not even begin to imagine what they are going through right now.Please say a little extra prayer for Elena, the 4 year old sibling. The accident happened on her 4th birthday. Angelina was rushed to the hospital and survived till the 10th. It was on that day that they feel they lost her, but the hospital kept her "alive" till the 12th so they could use her organs.Donations to cover the cost of the funeral can be made today only by calling (tomorrow is the funeral)

Birthday Parties Glore! (Day 2)

Today we continued our weekend of parties. We had a 1:30pm party at Dr. Pepper Star Center in Plano for a day of Ice Skating and cake for our friend Preston, who Michael misses dearly!
(Preston's dad and Michael's dad used to work together and are friends, we also used to live in the same neighborhood as them, and Michael was in the same First grade class until we moved.)
Michael never iceskated before today so I was a bit worried about it.

At first Anne and Tim (Preston's parents) said Preston never went either but he looked like he was doing well out there on the ice.

So I let Michael go, he was against the wall for a while and fell a few times, then I went out on the ice to protect him and keep him from commiting ice suicide.

He got brave and didnt need my help anymore LOL

Then Mike (who never ice skated before either) decided he was going to get on the ice as well. He ended up making 2 little friends on the ice who were instructing him how to skate. It was so funny!

Until he fell and one kid rolled over his finger and sliced it. But he was a trooper and was bandaged and back out on the ice in no time! So proud of him for that!
Michael ended up falling and bumping his head pretty bad in the back, we had a crying episode for like 10 minutes but swayed Michael back on the ice and he was fine.
It was time for cake and presents and we shared some yummy chocolate cake! It was good. Then Preston opened his gifts from everyone.
Afterwards we came home and passed out.
I must say I already knew how to skate so I didnt fall :) and I had a really good time!

Birthday Parties Galore! (Day One)

Well Michael had a busy day today - Me...not so much. He was invited to go to the movies to see Bolt, which his uncle, aunt and cousins. Pretty much before that, we woke up, hit up Sonic for mommy's ice fix and some french toast sticks for him. Got the Saturday paper for some coupons, drove around a bit because he insisted on driving around some more. Then came home, ate lunch and hung out until he left to go to the movies.
I had to rush to the store and pick up birthday gifts. (Yes, giftS...with an S at the end, as in more then one) because we have ANOTHER party to go to tomorrow as well.
We head out to the party, stop by and pick up Michael from his cousin's house, and hit up Peter Piper Pizza. (A place I have not been to before today) I must say the pizza was good, I think better then C.E.C.'s pizza.
Michael had a good time, and dad helped him win ALOT of tickets. I will say that the prize selection isnt as good as some of the other places we have been to. But Michael got a good amount of things and he liked them and that is all that matters.
The birthday boy loved his gift we got him, which was a Spiderman light up shirt and a Spiderman action figure. He also loved the card too, but that was because it had stickers in it! Who doesnt love stickers?
Michael is now knocked out on the couch exhausted from today's activities.
He needs the rest because we have yet another birthday party tomorrow!

Brown Cow Go Home!

This is entitled 'Brown Cow Go Home' even though it is a bull, for obvious reasons.
Thursday as I am leaving work to go home, I noticed on the side of the street a COW pacing back and forth infront of what appears to be the place in which the cow (bull) lives.
How he got out I have no clue. Now this being weird to me, I call my co-worker on the phone and tell her she has to hurry and come see this cow pacing back and forth on the side of the road. I bust a U turn because to me this is so funny and I wanted a picture ha!
So here it is 'Brown Cow...errr I mean BULL, Go home!'

Tara did call animal control and I headed home, well to Sonic but that is another post for another day, but FYI Sonic puts drugs in their ice!

Anyway, Tara reported that Brown BULL made it up his driveway and is *hopefully* home safe now :)

While shopping on Friday for Christmas with Reese (family member, sorta like a mother in law to me and nana to my son), we went to Stone briar mall in Frisco. There was this thing set up in the middle of the mall where I THOUGHT Santa was sitting LOL - Guess not, anyway...we went to see what the big deal was.
Apparently moviehatch.com had some sort of promotional thing going on. You got a ticket for signing up for the site, which by the way was free. We all love that word!
Once you got your ticket, you had to look to see if it was a winner, only so many had VIP on the backs and that means you would win a goodie bag of things.
After you did that you went to either pick to have your hair or make-up done. I picked hair, since I already had on make-up. Reese actually got make-up put on! She never had worn make-up prior to this day! I was impressed.
After you got your make overs, you head around the corner to get interviewed, they give you a fake oscar award, and you sit in a directors chair and get interviewed about "your" movie and who you would like to thank for making it all possiable. The cool thing about that is, if they people at moviehatch.com actually LIKE the idea of the movie you just talked about, they will turn it into a real movie!
After you did your interview on your movie, you head over to take pictures with the paparazi! THAT cost money, but then you get to walk the red carpet for free and that picture is free online, which takes four days and I am still waiting to see it LOL!

(Me...I am sorrta a big deal ya know)

It was still so much fun! Today, Sunday was the last day they were going to be there, but what a blast!

Breakfeast with Santa!

Saturday we went to The Zone McKinney to have breakfeast with Santa, we were meeting our friend, Tania and her kids, Robert, Danny and Diego. Although they were late, and were told they had to reschedule, the staff in the kitchen had food left and let them get some, also Santa did come over and talk to the kiddies when Michael asked him too :)

Michael got to write Santa a letter which he asked for everything in the world! Well not really but he did put a lot in the letter LOL!

He also got his face painted, BOTH cheecks...I am guessing that was a big deal because all the other kids got one cheek painted, he is such a charmer.

Michael got to wear his Santa shirt, which says "I will get you off the naughty list for one dollar"

Santa saw that and told Michael he was getting half of the profit LOL! They agreed that it was a fair enough offer.

All in all it was a good time and good food, which Michael DID fill up on Bacon and cereal...I know, not good but hey it was a special day...we met SANTA!

This year we celebrated Thanksgiving in Texas...Angie cooked this year and it was some good cookin!

We were joined by Galena's friend Jenny from London, and another set of friend's of John and Galena's and their little girl. But all in all it was a nice time with some good food and some good times, which is what Thanksgiving it about. I was sad at times that I wasnt in VA with my family, but they were in my heart :) I am thankful that my family is here and everyone is doing well, I am thankful for my son, and his health as well as mine and for everyone I know and love and hold dear to my heart.

Our Christmas Tree

Tis the Season...well it isnt yet Christmas yet, actually it has not even touched Thanksgiving, and yes, I have decked our halls...LOL! I just feel that I needed to put some cheer into our household, and hey I have to admit, it is way too much work to only have the tree up for 25 days and then have to take it down again. Plus I must admit I do like looking at the pretty lights. Christmas is my all time favorite holiday! I just love it and I can not wait for it to come around each year. I love the feeling it gives to people, love, family, friends, togetherness.

While Michael seems to be on this never ending Mario Brothers Kick, we have now become radar detectors for anything Mario related. It doesnt matter where we are, if they have anything Mario we are all over it! We have even made up Mario things, and had it made or something along those lines.

Lets not mention his want for a Super Mario Bedroom, Quilt and all, which I dont think we will EVER find unless we plan on going WAY 80 vintage and spending an arm and a leg, and that isnt happening, he is 6 for crying out loud!

ANYWAY, we were out shopping for winter clothes and low and behold MARIO JACKPOT!

In addition to the Mario shirt they already had (which by the way we HAVE) they have added 3 more designs...and no I didnt get those and will need to go back this weekend. On the plus they ARE LONG SLEEVED!

They also have 2 different designs of a Mario shirt that BLINK! yes they really blink, I am still trying to figure out how you are supposed to wash it...

THEN they have a PJ sets, yeah more then one!

The one he REALLY wanted is the full body suit thing with feet in it...Do they have a name? Footie Pajamas? I dont know - what ever they case we have invested in Footsie PJs.

they also have a cute button flannel type material with matching PJ pants, which is way cute and I think I will pick that up for a Christmas gift.

Then they had the thermal type but they are cotton, and it is a set of 2 of a mario design, he has that one, BUT I saw a different design at Target!

yeah gonna need to invest in those too!

Also for anyone intrested they had the most adorable fleece PJ pants that has Wii all over it!

Go to Your Quackin Bathroom!

I have decided to decorate Michael's bathroom...what I wanted to do was make it spiderman or something very boy like, but I was having issues with finding any spiderman things at the stores..true I could have got it off the internet, but oh well, I didnt want to wait for it. I am impatient like that...well I was out and about and shopping finding sales! When I see Shower curtains for $4.99 at Ross! They had a very good assortment of them, and if I had not JUST done my bathroom I would have totally picked something out for me! Well I ended up seeing this cute ducky shower curtain, NOT vinyal but clothe!

I was "ify" because I wasnt sure if the ducky theme was too babyish, but oh well Michael is 6 he can stand for some duckys for some more time. LOL!

Then they had other little ducky accessories too, I got some ceramic ducky shower curtain hangers, a tooth brush holder and a cup holder, you know to rinse your mouth after brushing your teeth...they also had a trash can, and a soap holder but I didnt get those, I will wait...the bathroom will have to be completed slowly LOL

I also got a lite yellow bath rug and towel, I am going to get some light blue towels to put in there also, and see if I cant put ducky stencil on the wall or a boarder trim thing.

But for what I got and did to his bathroom so far, I spent UNDER $30 there is no way I would have been able to do that buying these things at full price, I am pretty proud of myself!

Walk-a-Thon (Pt. 2)

We went to Michael's school to cheer him on as he walked to be drug free! It was fun! He completed 8 laps! YAY Michael!

Walk-a-Thon Pt. 1

Michael's school is having a "Walk-a-thon" tomorrow! He had to get sponsors to support him and donate money for the cause. It isnt a health cause, but a cause and a pledge to be "drug-free". Each lap Michael walks (which isnt long, there is a little pond next to the school, they are going to walk around it) the sponsors donate the amount they want per lap walked. I am going to be cheering him on! YAY MICHAEL! Also I will be posting pictures of my little walker! This is going to be FUN! The kids are all getting a special shirt too! They also signed red ribbons and a pledge card, pledging to be drug free!

Carving a Pumpkin

Well I never really carved a pumpkin, so this was my very first attempt. Of course Michael's too! Let me tell you! This carving pumpkin thing is HARD! First cutting the top out to scoop out the guts and seeds, well that was hard, THEN we took this outline we taped to the pumpkin and you have this thing, a poker, that you poke the outline of the design into the pumpkin so you can cut it, and then this little saw like, knife thing to cut out the design...HAND CRAMPS!!!!!!!!!!

All and All it was complete, and I must say we did a pretty darn good job :)

Big Orange Pumpkin Farm - Celina, TX

Today we ventured to the pumpkin farm...actually we went to two of them...the first was at a church and was free (well of course except the pumpkins..)It was small and not much of anything to do but all in all the boys liked it, they had a hay maze they went in, and they loved it!

I have not been posting in a while, I know, I am sorry! Things have been well...hectic. I got rid of my car, got another one, a newer one...Mazda Protege, Hunter Green (I like it).
We also moved! Which is exciting, the place is bigger and so much more nicer then the other place we were in, we have a fireplace, and I always wanted one, I got to decorate it :) I will snap some shots of it a little later.
I am also getting sick...a cold maybe...Sneezing for the first 2 days, running nose, and today (the 3rd day) I just started getting the coughs. I HATE BEING SICK!
So YES I am misrable to say the least, and I want to get this place put into order, Well all MY stuff and Michael's things are put away...it is the other Mike, whose things seem to be laying around everywhere with instructions that I cant touch anything LOL Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Well Hopefully by this weekend it will be put away :)

This weekend (Saturday) I am planning on going to the Grapevine Pumpkin Patch, seems like it will be a blast!

I will have to take tons of pics of that!

Other then moving, we have not really done much, we missed the Texas State Fair...cause we had to save money, and going to the fair was not a smart idea, as far as blowing money was concerned.

Maybe next year, Everyone I spoke to told me how much fun the state fair of Texas is.

Other then that, I have been working...oh Michael started his new school on Monday, he hasnt complained, I think he likes it. He received the 9 weeks words that his new class has been working on and he already has done them, or they are fairly easier then what he was doing at his other school (which is good)!

His teacher and all the office staff seem really nice.

The only thing that boggles me is the fact that their are no buses lol...we live 2 miles from the school, and there are no buses, What if I didnt have a car? How would he get to school? Weird!

I had to blog about this place because I think it is fantastic! I thought they only had one location but I just looked on the website and there is one or two closer to me which means I dont have to travel all into Dallas to get some grub from them!

Update on Michael's First Spelling Test

Upon days of practicing...he was getting all the words right...well he brought home the spelling test and only got 6/10 right! He wrote MEN instead of MAN, PEN instead of PAN and so on and so forth.

I dont understand he had them all right at home, and I even had him spell the words that morning when he was at the bus stop.

This week's spelling words all end in ACK...he has gotten them all right so far so good. Hoping that THIS test he gets 10/10 right!

Hurricane Ike

As many of you have contacted me to see if I am okay here in Texas...I am fine, we are okay...they are saying that we are in the hurricane's path but then I watched a forecast today and it seems to be curving over to the east. We will get maybe some high wind gusts and rain but not nearly as much as they are saying on some of the computer modules. Which is good for us but not for others in Texas. We will be praying for everyone in Galveston and Houston and anyone else in the Hurricane's path.

We are in Dallas, Plano...so please when looking at the news know where we are, and know that we are okay...if anything else should happen I will keep you all updated.

As for now, the weather is hot and muggy...I feel like I am in VA with this humidity!

But apparently after this storm passes we will have nice cool weather. Which is good :)

I just pray that everything will be okay for us!

Everyone right now keeps talking about stocking up and we have not gone to the store, Mike doesnt think we have anything to worry about.

We shall see!

9/13 11:53am -

I was expecting to wake up to TONS of rain and wind...well it is wet outside, and a little bit windy. Nothing to make me worry. So they are saying it will start picking up a little later on.

I am now watching news on TV about the Galveston and Houston area, they are trashed. They are showing people in clearlake and down there, and I guess it all happened early this morning or last night.

Here in Dallas, well we are okay for now, just wet and it is not raining now but we will see what later on brings.

Still praying for those who were injured. I think they have 1 death I heard which was a little boy who was hit by a tree limb or something.

I am 28 years old!

Sept. 11th...hmmm...what can I say about this day? Well I USED to be able to say it was my birthday and that was all I knew it for. The day I was born into this world.
Now, I say it is my birthday and everyone stops and tells me how they remember the Sept. 11th attacks, how it would suck to have a birthday to share a day with a tragedy so on and so forth. Yes...while it is my birthday and it was before the attacks took place, it still sucks celebrating the birth of myself or the birth of any life on this tragic day.
All in all while people are moarning and going to rememberance ceromonies, I am celebrating my life here.
Sad sad sad. I still think every day about the people's lifes lost and I pray that something of that extremeness never happens to USA again!
What an awful thing to have done and so cowardly done too!

I am very greatful to all my family and friends who remembered my birthday :)

I did get some VERY PRETTY flowers from DR HOUSE! Well not really but that is what the card said LOL

They are really from my BFF Liz! I love her! She is the BEST EVER!

I also got some good smelling candles from Galena, John and their kiddies. (for those who dont know John is my son's uncle - who is married to Galena making her my son's Aunt, and their kids of course are my son's Cousins.)

I also got a STARBUCKS gift card from Michael's grandmother Angie! Which I put to good use and will continue next week LOL

I did get my cake from Beth and had dinner with my friends the night before. And a card with everyone writing something in it!

Thank you again everyone! I am just happy knowing people remembered enough to say Happy Birthday to me then anything else!

Olive Garden (9/10)

Today I planned on going to Olive Garden with some friends I met through DFWareamoms.com it was Splurge night!

Michael ended up getting sick the night before and I didnt want him to get sick again and chance it, and also the funds I didnt have.

So I changed my post on the event to no, I wasnt going to make it.

Well I get an IM from Miss Beth *she is so sweet* and she said she had made me a cake :(

Awe now I felt bad, I need to go no matter what!

So I called Mike told him I needed to get some money, and he let me!

So off Michael and I went to Olive Garden. We got caught in the rain! And BOY DID IT RAIN!

I could hardly see and I had to drive really slowly!

Finally we got in (Soaked) but we were there :)

It was a good turn out :)

I was thankful to Beth and Brandie they are VERY sweet people and good friends!

Michael's Fisrt Spelling Test

Today is Michael's first Spelling test! Last week he brought home his First grade agenda. Which included occassional home work and weekley spelling words he needs to practice at home to prepare for spelling tests on fridays!

This weeks' words came home Tuesday since Monday was a holiday.

They took the Beginning of the week PRE test which he did miss a few words. So we got to work right away at home with the spelling words. By Thursday he got them ALL right! This morning at the bus stop I was throwing words at him and he was nailing them!

I am not nervous about his spelling test today :/

I really hope that he does good on his test. I kept encouraging him telling he is totally going to bring home a A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jokes at work

Co-worker playing jokes on me....yeah jokes...She has now opened a can of worms and I am full search mode of one to play on her!

I have not found one just yet that I like or think that will get her good but I am searching!

So Labor Day weekend (I was off work for 4 days...since I dont work Fridays anyway)
Well Tuesday I am just getting to work and have a lot of checks to enter into the Quickbooks program. Well here I am like many a mornings prior, typing my password in to log into my computer....hmmm....it isnt working...now it is super early and I am not a morning person at all!
So I enter it again...nope not taking it...what the world...well maybe just maybe this 4 days off of work has got to me or something, so I take out my book where I wrote all my passwords in when I first started working....no...it is the SAME one I am typing.

I am not get a little upset at myself cause I dont remember the password.

So I call my co-worker cause maybe she had to change it or what ever the case.

She has no clue, so she walks in finally and trys it and nope it didnt go through...she trys it again and it goes through!

I asked what she did and she said it was a secret and she could not tell me....uhh ok....

So now i am getting ready to log into Quickbooks...SAME THING!

So here she comes, she types it in and BOOM she is in!

Well what is going on, I am thinking I have lost my freakin mind at this point...I am soo worried and dont want to log out for fear of not being able to get back in.

So here I am entering checks into the system...I am typing the word 'expense' on the checks....SO I THINK I AM....until I look at the word and see that it says 'expemse'

What in the world? so I look at my keyboard and what do I see....My 'N' button and 'M' button have been switched around!

I yell over the wall YOU SWITCHED MY N AND M BUTTON!!!!!!!!! immdediatly she starts cracking up laughing! And of course so do I!

So apparently she did this all on Friday and my boss also knew about this, so I call him and tell him the story, of course he is cracking up too!

So ever since...I have been making sure to check the bottons on my keyboard

Labor Day :)

Today while many were having family get togethers and BBQs Michael and I joined our friends, Beth and Brandie and their lil ones for some Addison Fountain Fun!

So we hit Subway for some lunch...of course Michael brought Leo the Lion...and I think it was a plot so that he could HIDE the DS I told him not to bring.

Dallas Zoo

We went to the Dallas Zoo with our friends it was fun! We woke up bright and early to catch the train :) This was the first time for us taking the train in Dallas :) We were used to the Metro Rail back home :)

We missed the first train...but that is okay cause we got the next one which came 30 minutes later :) We had fun hiding from the crazies at the train stop YIKES!

We got the zoo and what do we see? A GIANT Spongebob Square Pants to greet us!
So the boys all run to him!

Inside the Zoo...Michael had a map and he decided to sit on the bench and read it!

It was a shock to me, he was supposed to pick us up from the train station when we got back...he called my phone to see when we would be done...then again to ask where were we...it was weird to me he was asking...and then we saw him!

Michael was surprised to see daddy, plus he was with all mommys and kids...he came in handy he was our MANnny! LOL

Then we took a break in the AC and had some icecream :)

After some lunch we went to have some fun on the playground...Michael found a spiderweb!!!!!!!!!! Spiderman!!!!!!!!!!!

Michael in First Grade

So it is official my baby is now in First grade :( I am so sad. I took him to school that morning, I have to make sure he doesnt get lost or anything LOL...I just imagine him wandering the halls not knowing where to go, and too shy to ask for help. So yeah I took him :) It was a MESS no where to park, parents parking on top of medians, jumping curbs to park...yeah it was nutz! So we got him in, I didnt walk alll the way back but we met a lady who showed him where to go :)

When he got home, jumped off the bus and told me all about his day. His friend Preston is in his class, that is a good thing. (Preston is Mike's friend's son, and they live in the same neighborhood as we do)

Then I told Michael we would have to make a special First Day of First Grade dinner. He of course picked Tacos! He loves them things :)

Sounds to me that he had a pretty awesome day :)

Not to mention that they "have this part on the desk where you keep your ownnn things!" lol

Well it is the day of Michael's birthday party...what could go wrong...right?

I woke up earlier then 9 so I can run all over Plano to pick up Balloons, cake, ice...then go home to get the rest of the things, and be at the pool to set up all before 11...sounds pretty doable...right?

NOT! I got the balloons, easy no fuss nothing, besides the balloons migrating to the front of the car to kill me! I was swatting balloons to the back of the car the whole ride to walmart to pick up the cake.

So I got there asked for the cake I ordered...walked to the counter to pay...looked down...what is this...THIS is not the cake I ordered!!!

Off to the customer service desk...what did this lady just ask me? Did I want another cake? NO I WANT THE CAKE I ORDERED! 30 minutes later I end up only paying $10 for a $20 cake.

But I have no Idea what is on this cake...LOL

Kids didnt seem to mind one bit.

After I am in the car with the cake I didnt order and the killer balloons, it is off to my house to get the rest of the things.

I arrive to the house to see Michael and his cousin getting ready and Mike pushing them off on me! What I have to SET UP come later!

So I rush out the door on my way to the pool to set up!

I made it! What now???? I get to the counter to find out where my tables are and well THEY DIDNT WRITE ME IN ON THE BOOK!!!!!!!!

She penciled me on the chart...should have been DONE 3 WEEKS AGO!

So I set up and people start arriving, where is the birthday boy? IDK! I called Mike's phone several times, no luck in him picking up!

20 minutes later in marches a angry Mike!

He was lost, the GPS sent him some where else, and I didnt tell him (so now this is my fault) Well if you remember HE DIDNT HAVE HIS PHONE HE LEFT IT AT HIS BROTHERS!

so I tell him not to be the person that brings negativity to my son's party, then left to get the pizza.

After all that it went pretty well, besides me not being able to relax.

Michael had a good turn out :) I was happy! He was happy!

The cake did start to melt so I ran it into the gaurds room to save it from the hot sun!

What a nice day!

After the party I was able to actually get in the pool. We decided to stay a while after it was all said and done and Mike actually went to get some shorts and got in the pool!

Okay so Michael officially turns 6 on Thursday! He couldnt be more excited! He is talking about what he wants for his birthday, and his birthday party too!

I have invited 13 kids, but confirmed only 10 coming. I am running into if I should MAKE 2 extra bags incase the 3 who didnt RSVP just show up? But on the invites I put that they NEEDED to RSVP cause I had a list running for the front desk at the pool as to who to let in (cause I want to know what extra I am paying since I only got a book of 20 pool passes).

Fustrating I tell ya!

I hear about people that dont RSVP and how nerve wrecking it is, and let me tell you I am finding it out first hand!

Would it be rude of me to NOT make the extra gift bags and NOT put them on the list, so if they show up they are SOL?

Maybe it would teach them a lesson in the future to RSVP?

Michael has been asking just just Legos and a pair of overalls...Overalls you ask?

Wellll...he isnt into John Deer or anything like that...if you know Michael and have been paying attention to the theme...it is MARIO BROTHERS FEVER!

He has a red shirt, a Mario hat, brown shoes, and all that is missing is well...the overalls.

I think I am going to get him a bike...he can ride it and I can walk!

So the party is going to be at this awesome pool (I think I blogged on it before).

With the help of a co-worker I got 2 tables reserved for $5 a table per hour!

AWESOME!

With that I bought a green and red table clothe (Mario and Luigi), some red and green plates and napkins, no cups cause they will have like kids drinks and things.

I am going to pick up some pizza pies from Little Ceasars and get some juices for the kids. Also some bottles of water for the adults and maybe some other kind of drink. I was also thinking some sort of veggie tray and maybe some chips?

The cake is ordered, I ordered the bottom part...it is white cake and it will be designed as bricks...I am going to make a smaller round cake in chocolate because that is Michael's favorite flavor. I bought a teir and I will put the small round cake on that...and put on a Mario and Luigi figurine.

The goodie bags are made and ready for handing out!

Sounds like it is all under wraps right? Well besides those who dont RSVP!

Michael Lost his 2nd Tooth!

Michael came to me with his 2nd loose tooth hanging to the side LOL so I was being "mean mommy" and I pushed it (ooops) It was bleeding and he didnt like that at all :(

But once I had him rinse his mouth with water and mouth rinse it was ok!

We was super excited to see the tooth fairy left him $5! Which daddy changed into GOLDEN DOLLARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Michael's Birthday Cake

So I went out and got some cake supplies I figured I would do a "practice" cake before having to make the real one so I know what to do...well since Mike seems to want to keep it 100 degrees in the house and turns the AC off every chance he gets my icing would not stay formed and turned into a goop of a mess!

Here is what i got, I gave up since I couldnt decorate since it was too hot!

Maybe when I do the final cake he will not be here so I can keep the AC on full blast!

Michael's 6th Birthday Party

Okay soo I am in the process of planning Michael's 6th birthday party! This is becoming a difficult thing for me because as of right now I am bouning back and fourth as to where to have it...we have 2 places to pick from, this place called Going Bonkers or Chuck E cheese's. I am more and more leaning toward Going Bonkers only because when they run out of tokens for the games they can climb, bounce and slide as their hearts desire! I have the invites down (except I have to change the place and that isnt my number soooo I will have to change that too)

I made it myself...I plan on taking it to Kinkos and having it copied off and I am going to mail out!

I am still thinking on trinkets to give in a goodie bag type thing...since he wants like Mario theme I was thinking on making these little boxes that looked like the ? boxes on Mario game, and filling with little chocolate coins!

also since we are going to be inside I dont think we can bring in star shapped pinyata but what a good idea for a decoration!

Well if anyone has any ideas please pass them this way it would be greatly appriciated!

I will keep you posted on Michael's birthday plans :)

I am sorry that I have not posted anything in a while, I have been busy none the less. With what you ask, well lets see....I go to work, come home, get Michael, work out (yes work out), clean house, pass out and do it all over again LOL.

I have started working out, this is now my 2nd week in doing so. with some help from a great person I met here in Texas (Brandie)I took her review of this work out walk away the pounds and I started it! Last week I started with the mile work out and this week I am at the 2 mile work out (the fast one - which is only 2 miles of the 3 mile workout)

I have been taking Michael to tons of places on the weekends so we have fun with that!

And I finally got new sheets for my bed and they are pink! I got them with out Mike knowing and quickly switched the sheets before he knew! LoL

I will post some pics :)

On Saturday (after the sleep over) we woke up and met our friends Brandie and D to watch Wall e It was so cute for a movie about robots that only say WALL EEEEE and EVVVAAAAA LoL

Michaels sleep Over

Friday Night Michael had a sleep over! He has had his cousin over before to stay the night (but I am not sure that counts because it is family - If ykwim?)But this night it was his friend Preston who stayed the night with him. Preston is the son of Mike's friend Tim. They live in the same place we do and the boys go to the same school and Day care and are in the same grade. So I had plans for the next day so I was thinking why not get his cousin too - so I ran out to McKinney and picked up his cousin. The boys had tons of fun! Michael loved it having his first (and last) sleep over LOL Well he can have people spend the night but we will limit it to one kid at a time! Michael was super excited and I think he just didnt know what to do with him self. As I was afraid I think there was some "Im a big boy and my friend who is also a big boy attitude twd his cousin - (which sucks because I was afraid that would happen) It was stopped really fast!

We went to Goin Bonkers! This is our 2nd time going, but first time taking pics there...Michael seems to like this place. They have this HUGE climbing thing, adults can go in it too which makes it awesome! Upstairs is an arcade, and they have tickets and a prize center like Chuck E Cheeses. The food from a look is expensive but they give you a lot of it!
This place is a place we will be visiting again really soon!

Another B-Day Party

Wellll we went to another Birthday Party! Those are always soo much fun - I just love em :) And I love that Michael has a social Life he he (he is only 5 with a social life - that is awesome!)
This one was for another lil girl (yes he is a ladies man already!) it was sorta a princess party - but to include the boys they could be pirates or knights, Michael was none other then Jack Sparrow :) He got hot eventually and took it off only to later put on knight things and play knights with the other lil boy :)
